Community focus in the daily council video update
Supporting community activity during the coronavirus emergency is highlighted in today’s (Tuesday) daily video update (Vlog) from Buckinghamshire Council Leader Martin Tett.
Joining Martin is Gareth Williams, Cabinet Member for Communities and Public Health, who talks about how £250,000 from the £4 million budget for the Council’s 16 planned local community boards has been fast-tracked in response to the Covid-19 crisis.
“Ideally, Covid would have come after we’d set up these community boards,” says Gareth. “But we’ve had to react pretty quickly to the emerging situation.”
Gareth explains how more than £172,000 has already been given to support a wide range of initiatives by volunteers, town and parish councils responding to help communities through the difficult time.

Vlogs will also be shared daily on the council’s social media channels.
