Community support is the focus of today’s council video update
Community support in Buckinghamshire during the coronavirus emergency is the topic of today’s video update (Vlog) from Buckinghamshire Council Leader Martin Tett.
Martin is joined by two people from the University of Buckingham. Dean Jones, who is the Partnerships and Outreach Manager, and Rushika Das, a medical student. Dean and Rushika talk about a volunteer scheme the university is running in partnership with Buckinghamshire Council, which sees first year medical students making regular ‘check-in’ calls to vulnerable residents who are currently shielding from coronavirus.
“We’re really proud to play a part in supporting the community at this time,” says Dean.

The daily Vlog, supporting the message #ProudofBucks, also provides an opportunity for people to ask questions via social media on how the council is fighting Coronavirus locally, what residents can do to stay safe, and how they can get involved in helping others – using the #askBucksCouncil Twitter hashtag.
Vlogs will also be shared daily on the council’s social media channels.
