Council Chairman welcomes new Lord-Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire

Countess (Elizabeth) Howe has today succeeded Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher Bt KCVO as Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire. Elizabeth replaces Lord-Lieutenant Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher, who is stepping down after 14 years in the role.

Chairman of Buckinghamshire Council, Cllr Richard Scott said:

“I am delighted, on behalf of the Council and the people of Buckinghamshire, to welcome Countess Howe as the new Lord-Lieutenant. I am sure she will serve the community of our amazing county with dignity and grace and I look forward to working with her.

I would also like to take this opportunity to say thank you to Sir Henry-Aubrey Fletcher who has been an incredible Queen’s representative over the last 14 years as Lord Lieutenant preceded by nine years as Vice Lord-Lieutenant. His generous and noble dedication to both these roles, and Buckinghamshire, has been inspiring and I wish him and his family a well-deserved and long lasting retirement.”
