Country To Capital Race
Now established as the opener to the Ultra race calendar and one of the premier single day Ultra events in the UK, the Country to Capital Race takes in some lovely countryside which looks good even in the depths of winter. Once inside the M25 the runners follow the Grand Union Canal towpath for the final run into London, finishing at Little Venice. Overall, the course follows 45 miles of country trails and towpath. Due to the strenuous physical demands of running 45 miles in one day, Country to Capital is restricted to competitors over 18 years of age only. The Country to Capital race counts as 1 point towards qualification for the for Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc long course.
The start for the 11-hour race was hosted by the Shoulder of Mutton Pub early on a frosty Saturday 16 January 2016.
Medals and Technical Apparel were provided to all finishers.
