New Children’s boutique ‘The Dandy Kid’ wins best children’s shop in the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2014

Wendover based Children’s boutique The Dandy Kid has won the Best Children’s Shop award in the popular Muddy Stilettos Awards, celebrating fantastic places, spaces and businesses across Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

The Children’s boutique, which opened its doors in February, won a closely fought race in a competition that saw over 10,000 people nominate and 50,000 votes cast for the best independent businesses across 25 categories.

Commenting on the award, Becks Clarke, co-founder of The Dandy Kid said: “Since launching we’ve been bowled over by the support we’ve received both locally and from within the industry. To win an award just three months after opening is something we’re immensely proud of and we’re very grateful to all our customers and supporters for voting for us.”

“The timing couldn’t be better” added Sarah Beattie, co-founder, “we are just about to launch our website with some exciting new suppliers, we can’t wait to share it with everybody!”

Hero Brown, founder of the Muddy Stilettos blog adds: “I set up these awards to give local lifestyle businesses a chance to show how brilliant they are. The Dandy Kid is a great new addition to the High Street, they offer something refreshingly different so it’s fantastic to see the local community getting behind them.”

The Dandy Kid sells kids paraphernalia; clothes, toys, gifts and accessories selected from cool independent brands, designers and nice creative people around the globe. The aim is simple – to source goods with fun, bold, quality design that’s a little bit quirky and different.

On Saturday28th June 2014, The Dandy Kid will be holding a fun farm day for local children as part of the Wendover Craft Fair. Between 10am – 4pm visitors will be able to head to the Dandy Kid Farm to see and feed chickens, pigs, micropigs, lambs, rabbits and calves as well as view the latest summer must haves. There will also be a fabulous array of curated stalls behind Antiques of Wendover on the High Street including garden goodies, hand crafted jewellery, cards, patchwork & handicraft and much more.
