Dedicate, Remember, Reflect, Share

Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity is offering a Tree of Light commemoration service, Books of Honour and an online dedication page to support those who have faced the loss of a loved one this year.

Join our community commemoration event at Walton Lodge in Aylesbury Town Centre on Sunday 11th December from 5pm for a modern, secular service with readings plus uplifting songs from a local choir where our remembrance tree will be lit for the first time. The virtual Tree of Light commemoration service will be available to view on the Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity website.  The service will provide space and time for families and friends to remember and share those treasured memories in a variety of different ways.  There will also be readings and music with time to light a candle to take a moment of reflection and remembrance

“We recognise Christmas can be a very emotional occasion, a time when we particularly think of loved ones who are no longer with us” says Ann Kenny, the Bereavement Support Team Lead at the Hospice. “These last couple of years have been enormous challenges for everybody, and sadly, many people have faced the loss of a loved one with little outlet to express their feelings properly.”

The Charity has also set up an online Tree of Light remembrance page where you can dedicate a memory to someone special. Dedicate a light in memory of someone special to illuminate our beautiful Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity remembrance tree, which will be lit at our Tree of Light commemoration service.

The dedication tree will remain lit throughout the festive period as a shining symbol of those no longer with us.

If you are unable to attend the service, a recording of the event will be available to view from home on our website from Monday 19th December.

Write a dedication to your loved one to appear in our Books of Honour. These will be available to view before the service from 4pm at Walton Lodge in Aylesbury Town Centre, and again after the service completes.

You can also create an online dedication. Anyone who dedicates a message via postal form will have this automatically added to the online dedication page, allowing friends and family all over the world to view. If you would prefer to add your message and directly to this online page, or would like to simply view the beautiful messages left, you can do so at
