Donation to Wendover Community Car
In October, Wing Cdr Jenny Holmes of RAF Halton presented a cheque for £600 to Jeremy Stevenson on behalf of the RAF Thrift Shop at Halton.
The Wendover Community Car operates a transport service for those who find it difficult to get about on public transport for such everyday activities as shopping, visiting friends or going to organised events such as Lunch Clubs etc. The Wendover Community Car is run by volunteers who each give up a few hours of their time each week to provide this service in return for a small donation to cover running costs.
In accepting the cheque Jeremy Stevenson said, “We are very grateful to the RAF once again for their generous support of the vital work carried out by the volunteers of Wendover Community Car in providing this vital service. At present we are very short of volunteer drivers and would be delighted to hear from anyone who feels that they can help. Our Co-ordinator can be contacted on 01296 317769.”
