Silence for Drummer Lee Rigby RIP
A group of women and children associated with RAF Halton gathered on the Manor Waste in Wendover this afternoon to remember Drummer Lee Rigby who was brutally murdered in Woolwich exactly one week ago.
In anticipation of this event, Spice Cottage, a restaurant in Tring Road, had already laid their wreath and some of the women with work commitments had also laid theirs by 2pm.
By 2:15pm the women had assembled, quietly, with their wreaths. At 2:20pm they made a circle around the war memorial for the two minutes silence. Then simultaneously they laid their wreaths. they were visibly moved by theis simple act of remembrance which was made in solidarity with other military people at bases and memorials up and down the country.
During the rest of the afternoon, others brought wreaths or took photos of the solemn sight.
