Family Hat Trick at Graduation Parade

It was a family occasion at the Graduation Parade of Douglas Intake this week when Warrant Officer Rob Watters from RAF High Wycombe, and his wife Sara, watched their eldest son, Adam graduate from basic training at Recruit Training Squadron at RAF Halton. Also in uniform was their youngest son, Martin, who is a Flying Officer, Air Traffic Controller at RAF Lossiemouth.

Adam said: “Due to injury it has taken me a year to fully complete basic training. I have learned an awful lot and made some good friends. I thought that the Initial Force Protection training was a highlight but today trumps that.” He will now train as Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Air Traffic Controller.

Mum Sara said it was an emotional occasion, and continued, saying: “I am extremely proud of them all and the atmosphere has been amazing. We want to say a huge thank you to the support staff who have been incredible.”

Rob, who has been in the Royal Air Force for 32 years, spoke for the family, saying: “It has been a proud and momentous occasion, a unique event for our family.”
