Family service hunts for business sponsorship

A Buckinghamshire information and advice service which receives more than 15,000 enquiries a month is looking for sponsors to help it continue to provide a high-quality service for families across the county.

The Buckinghamshire Family Information Service, known as BFIS, is looking at creative ways to generate income for the Council, and one way of doing this is to offer sponsorship opportunities to businesses and other organisations.

BFIS offers high-quality impartial information, support and advice to the 68,568 families in Buckinghamshire with children aged 0 to 19 years (or 25 with a disability) on subjects from childcare and activities for young people to health and money.

The service is free and information is delivered by phone, social media, in person and via its website (www.bucksfamilyinfo.org) which is a ‘one stop shop’ of information, advice and lists hundreds of activities and events.

The website is also host to the Buckinghamshire Local Offer for children with special educational needs and disabilities.

Zahir Mohammed, Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, explained: “The pressure on services to meet the needs of Buckinghamshire residents increases year on year and as a council we are being called upon to deliver more for less.

“The Family Information Service offers an extremely valuable and high-quality service to the 68,568 families in Buckinghamshire, making a real difference to these families.

“To continue to offer such a great service, we are looking for sponsorship from businesses or organisations. This is a really exciting opportunity for a business to support a key local service, vital to the families of Buckinghamshire, and at the same time provide an effective brand exposure across Buckinghamshire.”

The site has 90,120 average monthly page views; 4,500 social media followers and its frequent outreach events reach an average of 4,800 people per year.
