Local Firms feature in Farm Shop awards
CHILTERN BREWERY IS HIGHLY COMMENDED
The Chiltern Society is delighted to announce that the winner of the VERY FIRST Chiltern Society FARM SHOP AWARD is SEASONS of North Dean, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, HP14 4NQ.
The award was developed by the Chiltern Society, a local charity which has over 6,800 members and 500 volunteers. The charity’s objective is to care for the Chilterns, and we have set up the farm shop award in order to focus attention on local produce, with the dual benefits of reducing the carbon footprint of food transportation and assisting local businesses. We recognise that local farmers and food producers do much to conserve and protect the special landscape of the Chilterns.
The most important of the various criteria used in the judging was the amount of local produce on offer. It was a hard fought competition so the final decision was not an easy task.
Seasons is actually a relative new-comer on the scene. So special congratulations to their whole team for winning our first FARM SHOP AWARD.
We also awarded 4 Highly Commended certificates to The Chiltern BreweryNash Lee Road, Terrick, HP17 0TQ, 01296 613647; P.E. Mead & Sons, Tring; Peterley Manor, Prestwood and The Quince Tree Shop, Stonor.
