Only four homes remain for sale at Bellway’s Lestone Mews development, which has transformed a former brickyard quarry in Leighton Buzzard.

The housebuilder is providing a total of 165 homes at the development off Bellona Drive, with 128 homes for private sale and the remaining 37 affordable homes available for local people through rent or shared ownership.

A total of 92 homes have now been completed and occupied by their new residents. A three-bedroom Eggington and four-bedroom Radcliffe are still available to reserve, with a showhome in each of these designs yet to be released for sale.

Luke Southgate, Sales Director for Bellway Northern Home Counties, said: “Lestone Mews has been a huge success with local people in Leighton Buzzard. Around 70 per cent of residents at the development are people who’ve moved here from elsewhere in the town.

“It is great to see local residents welcoming us into this tight-knit community and we look forward to the final few buyers moving into their homes.”

Bellway has delivered a mix of two, three and four-bedroom detached and semi-detached houses, as well as apartments and maisonettes, at Lestone Mews.

Construction on site began in March 2019, with the first residents moving into their new-build homes at the beginning of 2020.

Luke continued: “We have seen a lot of young couples and young families moving onto the development due to the site’s location. Leighton Buzzard is quickly becoming a highly sought-after destination, with its proximity to Bedford, Milton Keynes and Luton making it ideal for commuters.

“Many buyers have moved here from London, Watford and Hemel Hempstead as they have found they are able to get a lot more for their money, while also being able to travel into the city for work and leisure.

“Families are well catered for with a number of well-regarded primary and secondary schools close to the development.

“With only the final few homes remaining for sale at Lestone Mews, we would suggest anyone still interested in a property at this development should head down to the sales office as soon as possible.”

Bellway is investing more than £1 million in education in the area as part of the planning agreement for Lestone Mews. Payments of £770,000 are also being made towards improving transport and a further £148,000 towards community facilities.

The final three and four-bedroom houses for sale at Lestone Mews are priced from £410,000 and £495,000 respectively.

Bellway is building new homes at developments across Bedfordshire, with a new development – Chamberlains Bridge – coming soon off Vandyke Road in Leighton Buzzard.

Chamberlains Bridge will feature a collection of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, with the first properties set to be released for sale later this year.
