First Time Buyers become the first Residents at new Milton Keynes Development

A new Milton Keynes community has begun as a Romanian couple are the first residents at Barratt Homes’ development, Woburn Downs.

Cristian (36) and Georgiana Dumitru (31) recently moved into their new three bedroom Maidstone on the Watling Street development after previously renting a one bedroom home in Milton Keynes.

The couple took advantage of the previous Help to Buy scheme to escape the rental trap and to start owning their own home.

Cristian, a Portfolio Analyst for the Open University, said: “When we were house hunting something just felt right about Woburn Downs. The development was still in its very early stages of construction. The Maidstone show home wasn’t even ready to visit, but after seeing the pictures in the brochure we decided to go for it.

“The location of the development felt so right to us. We wanted to be as close to Milton Keynes as possible, and we liked the development immediately. The transport links are great and there are plenty of amenities nearby such as a farm shop, supermarkets and take-aways.

“We decided that it was time for us to upsize from our previous one bedroom home. It’s exciting to now own our own home, and it will be perfect if we are to have a child.”

The couple will now benefit from beautiful countryside whilst being just six miles from the developing town of Milton Keynes. Alongside this, Bletchley train station is located less than three miles away, making access to London quick and easy.

“We’ve already met our neighbours who seem really nice. Once the pandemic is over we look forward to having barbecues and such with them. We think it’s going to be a lovely community here.”
