A couple have recently moved into David Wilson Homes’ Milton Keynes development, Eagles’ Rest, and have been sharing their homebuying experience and improvements through their Instagram account (@ourbradgatehome.mclean).

Rachel (37) and Matthew McLean (41) have now settled into a four bedroom Bradgate style home at the new development after buying the property before it had been built. The pair immediately fell in love with the local area for its perfect blend of urban and countryside living.

The first time buyers took advantage of the government-backed Help to Buy scheme as they had been renting previously due to Matthew’s former occupation as a submariner in the Royal Navy.

Rachel, a Dental Hygienist, said: “We had friends who own a David Wilson home at Great Denham Park and they told us about how good their moving experience was, so when we saw the development at Eagles’ Rest we had to look around. I loved it so much that I knew which house was going to be ours. I visited every month and came to know the sales team really well!

“I’d always had the idea of doing an Instagram account for the home but COVID-19 really pushed it. I really wanted new house ideas and it’s really satisfying being able to watch our home grow. We met some of neighbours through the account as well! So many of us had the same idea and it’s been great to learn hacks and get new ideas on how to improve the home.

“The community at Eagles’ Rest is so nice, everybody is lovely, our neighbours have bought us jam and brownies recently! We already have community Facebook groups and it feels as if we have our own little village. We love it so much that we have convinced my mum to rent her own property at the development with Barratt Homes!”

Eagles’ Rest is situated five minutes away from the M1 and is close to a range of amenities in the local village of Wavendon. The village is also home to St Mary’s Wavendon C of E Primary and Walton High offering schooling opportunities for children of all ages.

Jason Hearn, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said “We’re delighted to welcome the Rachel and Matthew to the growing community here at Eagles’ Rest.

“It’s lovely to be able to follow their journey on social media and see them make their home completely unique to them. It’s great to hear that they’re now settled at the development, and that Rachel’s mother will be moving into her own home at the development.
