FNHC Cream Tea raises £2530

Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity’s (FNHC) Haddenham Community Fundraising Group (CFG) held a Cream Tea at Haddenham Tythe Barn on Sunday 23rd May and raised a whopping £2,530 for the Charity.

“It was a very successful event,” commented Angela Hart, a member of Haddenham CFG.

“The local people are very supportive of the Hospice and it showed by the number of people who turned up to the Tythe Barn for a relaxing Sunday afternoon cream tea.”

Not only did the lovely ladies provide a delicious afternoon tea, they introduced live music in the form of a harp and jazz music. There was also a tombola run by Sue Peck and Laura Ewers, a plant stall run by Betty Hammond and a Grand Spring Draw to entertain the locals on a Sunday afternoon.

Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity’s Chairman of Trustees, Mike Bennett, attended the afternoon event with his wife and congratulated the Haddenham CFG on such a successful event and delicious homemade cakes.

Val Truby, the secretary of the Aylesbury Flower Club provided the beautiful flower arrangements on each table, with other local businesses kindly donating by businesses and individuals in the village.

“We are so proud of the Haddenham Community Fundraising Group,” commented Emma Carroll.

“They are so passionate about raising money for the Hospice and it really shows with the success of events that they hold.”

Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity needs to raise over £650,000 each year to continue providing care and support to families battling life-limiting illnesses in the local area.
