Focus on care homes in the daily council video update
How the county’s care homes are managing during the coronavirus emergency is highlighted in today’s (Friday) daily video update (Vlog) from Buckinghamshire Council Leader Martin Tett.
Martin speaks about the council’s gratitude for the work they are doing to keep some of the county’s most vulnerable residents safe and cared for.
Sara Livadeas, Chief Executive of the Fremantle Trust, joins Martin to talk about how the organisation’s ten residential care and nursing homes in Buckinghamshire have adapted to doing things differently: using technology to help families stay in touch with their relatives, and ensuring birthdays are celebrated, albeit virtually!
She speaks about the support received from the council and NHS, and about good local supplies of personal protection equipment, and she pays tribute to the Fremantle staff team for turning their hands to new skills, like hairdressing and cooking!
“I’m really grateful to the whole team who have absolutely risen to the challenge,” says Sara.
