Free environmental webinar ahead of UN climate change summit

As the UK Government’s flagship infrastructure project, HS2 is at the heart of building back better. Once operational it will transform the country for the better, levelling-up the Midlands and North.

But, how we build is as important as what we build and HS2 is an exemplar project for the environment, leading the way through innovation to decarbonise construction and make sure the railway will be resilient to a changing climate.

Join us at our COP26 launch webinar, HS2: The tracks to COP26, on Thursday 14 October at 12pm to find out what HS2 will be doing for the landmark event and how Europe’s largest infrastructure project is contributing to the UK’s Government’s goals for the summit.

Please sign up to attend our launch webinar and hear from our speakers on:

Cleaner Construction
How HS2 and its partners are decarbonising construction to leave a sustainable legacy for the industry.
Speakers: Neil Wait, Head of Environmental Sciences and Andrea Davidson, Air Quality Lead

Resilient, reliable railway
Making the railway resilient to more extreme weather events to minimise delays for passengers.
Speaker: Alison Walker, Climate Change Manager

Nature recovery
Creating the Green Corridor alongside the route to leave behind 7 million trees and shrubs and 30% more wildlife habitat than exists currently.
Speaker: David Prys-Jones, Biodiversity Manager

We will also officially launch our plans for the summit in November, setting out what HS2 Ltd will be doing for COP26 and how to get involved. There will be an opportunity to ask questions to speakers and we welcome questions submitted in advance.

If you would like any more information, please feel free to get in touch and also to share this invitation with colleagues you feel may also be interested in attending.
