Grass Roots launches Apprenticeship Scheme for 2014

During National Apprenticeship Week 2014, Grass Roots is delighted to confirm that their Apprenticeship Scheme for 2014 is progressing with recruitment events planned at several schools and new opportunities being created across the business.

The world’s leading employee and customer engagement company has been headquartered in Tring for over 30 years. With 3 offices in Tring and Wendover they are high profile local employers, and this year they are extending the reach of their Apprenticeship Scheme to encompass further offices in the UK. This programme expansion ensures that roles will be made available to apprentices wishing to take on a role in any of the company’s four divisions: Employee Solutions, Customer Engagement, Promotions & Incentives and Meetings & Events.

Grass Roots designed its own bespoke Apprentice Scheme 4 years ago in order to source talented young people and support them through a fast track development programme. During this time, 12 apprenticeships have been offered, each leading to securing a full-time position within the company.

Dave Sweeney a Senior Designer in the Grass Roots Creative Studio comments: ‘Having these talented and enthusiastic individuals coming into our team has energised us all! All the apprentices we have taken are passionate and quick to learn new skills ‘on the job’. We’re thrilled to be able to offer these opportunities and look forward to welcoming more young people soon.’

Gemma Dalton, a Junior Artworker apprentice says, ‘I am so pleased that I managed to secure one of the sought after apprentice roles at Grass Roots. I’ve now been with the company for over a year and am thoroughly enjoying myself. I’m developing my skills and have been made to feel so welcome by my colleagues!’

Trish Breen, HR Business Partner, runs the scheme and is passionate about nurturing and developing these bright young individuals, ‘It is a pleasure to watch these fantastic young apprentices growing into their own full-time positions. They are adding value across the business and we have had excellent feedback from all the line managers that have taken them on.’
