Halton Beavers Wins Florrie’s Scootathlon Prize

Sporty beavers from a newly-opened Beavers Club, part of 1st Halton RAF Scouts, were presented with a £60 Sainsburys voucher to spend on “very welcomed” equipment as a result of coming joint first (alongside Haddenham Junior School) in the Florrie’s Scootathlon prize for the school or club who entered the most participants on the day.

11 children from the Beavers Club, aged seven to eight took part in the Florrie’s Scootathlon challenge event in May, which saw them scoot, cycle and run around the track at Stoke Mandeville Stadium.

Presenting the certificate and special prize, Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity’s Ruth Early, said: “On behalf of the Charity, I would like to say a huge thank you to all the sporty beavers and their Mums and Dads for supporting our Florrie’s Scootathlon challenge – helping to raise vital funds for the Florrie’s Children’s Team. Your support makes a huge difference to the lives of local children affected by life-limiting illness.”
