Halton Families Fun Day
After all the hard work for the RAF100 Commemorative Parade the Station held a relaxing Families Day on the Nuffield Pavilion site recently.
As well as all the usual catering outlets there was lots to see and do. Most popular for young and old were the dodgems, an alligator swing and a play house with children’s activities and games in the central arena. One of the most popular stalls was a miniature farm with tarantulas, a baby skunk, a snake and Lola the meerkat, who was very popular. For the adults, a big red bus bar, a prosecco bar and a local gin distillery were popular later in the afternoon with music throughout the day from the RAF Band, Shades of Blue, and a rock group, Hallow Saints.
Flt Lt Claire Hobbs, who organised the event, said: “A lot of hard work went into making the day the success it was. Rain threatened most of the day but it didn’t materialise so everyone appeared to be enjoying themselves and it was a joy to see so many young and old families enjoying themselves.”
