Halton Ladies ‘Let the Chilterns Sing’
RAF Halton’s Military Wives Choir performed at the Rotary Club of Wendover and District’s Annual ‘Let The Chilterns Sing’ concert which is now in its fifth year.
The concert, which had a real family theme, was held in St Mary’s Church in Wendover.
Joining them at the church were the Gateway School Choir, the Aylesbury Concert Band and many talented local people.
Members of RAF Halton Military Wives Choir were lucky enough to be involved in a recording opportunity recently when 14 ladies travelled to the home of the RAF Central Band at RAF Northolt to join forces with members of other Military Wives Choirs from North London, Benson, Defence Academy and Odiham to record two tracks for the upcoming ‘Home For Christmas’ Album which is due to be released this month. The album features a number of new carol arrangements that have been crafted especially for the Military Wives Choirs. The album release was due to coincide with the beginning of a national cathedral tour that was due to begin in Winchester on 21 Nov.
RAF Halton Military Wives Choir has been running for over three years now and its members have been lucky enough to participate in the likes of the BBC Warhorse Prom with Gareth Malone, National Remembrance activities along with local events such as Armed Forces Day and Kop Hill Climb. They are always looking for new members. If you have a military connection and would like to take up singing with the choir they can be contacted at halton@militarywiveschoirs.org.
