Have your say on early help support for children and families in Buckinghamshire

A public consultation on a new Early Help Partnership Strategy is being launched on Monday 1 November.

Buckinghamshire’s Children and Young People’s Partnership want to make sure that children, young people and their families get the support they need, when they need it, to deal with any problems they may be facing before they get worse.

This support is known as early help and is provided by lots of different services across Buckinghamshire. These organisations include the Council, health services, education and voluntary and community sector organisations.

Early help services can offer support as soon as a family is facing a problem, through advice and information, drop-in sessions delivered at Family Centres across the county, or direct support from a professional who will work with a family and other professionals to agree a plan to help.

In Buckinghamshire, we already have an Early Help Partnership Strategy that expires in March 2022. It’s now time for us to produce our new strategy, a plan for the next three years on how we will improve this support, measure our success, and try new things.

Councillor Anita Cranmer, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services said: “Our goal is to deliver the best possible early help services to families in Buckinghamshire. We want as many people as possible to give their views on the strategy and the priorities it contains so it’s the best it can be.”

You can do this through our online survey (the draft Early Help strategy can be seen here too) –  https://yourvoicebucks.citizenspace.com/schools/early-help-2021/

You can also feedback in person by attending an online event on:

  •  9 November from 2pm to 3pm
  • 10 November from 11am to 12pm
  • 15 November from 7pm to 8pm

To book a place at these online events or if you have any queries email EngageEducation@buckinghamshire.gov.uk

The closing date for the Early Help strategy survey is Friday 12 December 2021.
