Health Secretary and Local MP visit Stoke Mandeville Stadium vaccination hub

The Health Secretary, Matt Hancock MP, and Aylesbury MP, Rob Butler, this afternoon visited Stoke Mandeville Stadium, which is the hub for vaccinations run by local GP practices in the local primary care network.
Matt Hancock MP said:
“The Stoke Mandeville Stadium vaccination hub is a fantastic operation – I was impressed by the extremely efficient flow of so many people getting their vaccinations. I am grateful to everyone working so hard to ensure Aylesbury residents receive their jabs so we can start to see a return to normal life.”
Rob Butler MP said:
“It was great to join the Health Secretary to see the amazing work that is being done at the Stoke Mandeville Stadium vaccination hub. I was overawed by the dedication and commitment of everybody involved, from the clinical lead Doctor Sajid Zaib and project manager Dean Elliott from Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, to the volunteers doing everything from administering the jabs to marshalling the queues and stewarding the car park.
“Although vaccinations were late coming to Aylesbury, the teams across all the sites have done a fantastic job working towards the target of inoculating the top four cohorts by the 15th February.
“It was also heart-warming to see the reaction of local residents receiving their vaccines and they had a very clear message to the whole community: please do take up the offer of the vaccination when you receive it.”
