Halton House Officers’ Mess comes alive with Carol Service

Chaplains from RAF Halton held a carol service in Halton House recently which was well attended by Station personnel and their families. Halton Combined School Children’s Choir joined in singing traditional carols accompanied by the brass band of the Salvation Army.

Reverend (Flt Lt) Nicholas Hanover, Station Chaplain, said: “Halton House provided a suitably festive setting for this year’s Station Carols. Indeed the salon was soon full of Station personnel, families and friends enjoying mulled wine, mince pies and much merriment! Accompanied by a brass band from The Salvation Army the carol singing was as enthusiastic as it was heart-warming and smiles and laughter peppered the event. Unsurprisingly it was the children from Halton Community Combined School who stole the show! Their singing provided moments of reflection, fun and childlike excitement in equal measure.”

All in all by the time Padre Nick wished everyone a happy and meaningful Christmas the season’s festivities were well and truly underway.
