The Hospice Lottery Partnership launches Superdraw to raise money for local hospice care

The Hospice Lottery Partnership (HLP) has launched its annual Summer Superdraw and is delighted to have the support of local organisations who have very generously donated some of the prizes. This means that there are some great prizes on offer and, more importantly, more money will be raised to help support many patients and families in our community that are cared for by local hospices including:

  • Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity, Aylesbury
  • Michael Sobell Hospice, Northwood
  • Rennie Grove Hospice Care, Tring & St Albans
  • South Bucks Hospice, High Wycombe
  • The Hospice of St Francis, Berkhamsted.

Tickets only cost £1 each and are available online at hospicelottery.org.uk/superdraw or by calling the HLP office on 01442 891459. Tickets are on sale until 5 July 2017 and the main draw takes place on 12 July 2017.

The winner of last year’s Summer Superdraw joined The Hospice Lottery fourteen years ago in memory of a close friend who was cared for by Florence Nightingale Hospice in Aylesbury.

She said: “When I went to visit my friend, I expected it to be the saddest place, but it wasn’t. The all-round care that she received, both clinical as well as emotional, was incredible. All the nurses treated my friend as an individual, not just a patient, right up to the end. The special care that she received meant so much to her and her husband.”

This year, one lucky winner will have the choice of £5,000 in cash or a bespoke holiday with Explorer Travel. Local organisations, The Crown Inn based in Farnham Royal and Chartridge Lodge in Chesham also donated prizes for the draw.

HLP supporters have been raising funds through the weekly draw and bi-annual Superdraws since 1997 and have funded over £9.7 million of hospice care. Each year, the Superdraw’s raise a combined total of approximately £100,000 which is a staggering amount of money and enough to fund over 3,600 hours of specialist nursing care.
