HS2 All going ahead
All Going Ahead
As most Residents know, Royal Assent has been granted. HS2 Ltd are going ahead with investigation works and will shortly commence the Enabling Works Contract which includes taking possession of land required for the Railway and diversion of services. We are pressing them for a timetable and will make sure details are made available in Wendover News and on the Parish Council’s website www.wendover-pc.gov.uk as soon as they are available.
Public Roadshow
HS2 Ltd are holding a Public Roadshow at the Memorial Hall on Friday 31 March between 2pm and 8pm. We understand there will be displays of the scheme and representatives will be available to answer any queries you may have. Everyone is encouraged to attend. The main point of this Roadshow is to Publicise the HOUSEHOLDERS COMPENSATION SCHEME which is intended to compensate owners close to the new Railway line. Most of these affected have been informed about how claims can be made but if you are unsure of your eligibility please go along and ask.
Complaints Procedure
HS2 have set up a hotline 020 7944 4908 and email enquiries@hs2.org.uk where you can register a complaint or just ask for advice on any matter relating to the scheme. All complaints will be passed to the relevant department for attention. Urgent matters will be passed to their area representative for immediate action. It is understood that once on site the Contractor will have a similar procedure, details of which will be publicised when available.
Comment from BBOWT
BBOWT has campaigned strenuously for the impacts of HS2 on wildlife to be reduced. The HS2 railway line will still have considerable impact on two of our nature reserves: Calvert Jubilee and Finemere Wood. Learn more at www.bbowt.org.uk/what-we-do/campaigns-0.
