HS2 Works Notification: Aylesbury and Quainton temporary traffic management

We’re writing to let you know about some planned works that we will be carrying out in your area.

Aylesbury- Traffic management, A418 Stone

As part of continued preparatory works UKPN will be diverting an electricity cable along the A418. This diversion will enable us to begin using our temporary access to our A418 compound and will facilitate upcoming works for the permanent realignment of the A418.

We understand that we are providing short notice for these works; unfortunately, utility related works are sometimes confirmed with short notice.

The A418 will have traffic management overnight, 8.00pm to 6.00am from Monday 15 August 2022 for approximately two weeks.

Quainton – Station Road Closure – Quainton Railhead

As part of our continued works in Quainton, we will be constructing the Quainton Railhead this September 2022. This new railway platform will receive upwards of 3 million tonnes of material over the course of 3 years.

For reasons of safety, we will be closing a section of Station Road. This closure will be to facilitate the construction of the railhead, the movement of aggregate between Quainton and Calvert North as well as junction improvement works to the Quainton cross roads.

In order to keep the closure of Station Road to one year, we are working collaboratively with Network Rail, co-ordinating their repairs for the Station Road Bridge with our closure of Station Road. This will help us minimise the time that the Station Road closure is in place but may include the temporary closure of Fiddlers Field in Autumn 2023. Once further details can be confirmed we will update communities.

A section of Station Road will be fully closed, 24 hours a day, from September 2022 to Autumn 2023 with a diversion in place. Quainton Railhead will begin receiving deliveries between 8am – 6pm from Monday 19 September 2022 through to 2025.
