HS2 Works Notification: Temporary road closure and footpath diversion, Banbury Lane, Lower Thorpe Mandeville

We’re writing to let you know about some planned works that we will be carrying out in your area.

As part of our continued preparatory works for our internal haul and access roads we will close Banbury Lane for approximately four weeks.

In the area where our internal access roads cross the highway, we will create a strengthened surface using concrete to ensure that we protect the road and any utilities underneath. It is also necessary to remove vegetation to enable future works to continue and to allow access to areas of the site.

Our initial work on Banbury Lane will be to assess what reinforcement is required using trial holes. Depending on the outcome of these surveys, we will require the road to remain closed while the reinforcement work is completed.

A public right of way, footpath BB11, from Magpie Farm to Lower Thorpe Mandeville, will be temporarily diverted to a new entry / exit point onto Banbury Lane. This is to avoid footpath users entering our construction area.

Banbury Lane will be fully closed, 24 hours a day, from Monday 22 November to Thursday 16 December, with a diversion in place. This the maximum duration of the closure.

The short diversion of footpath BB11 will commence on Monday 22 November and last for a period of approximately 4 years.
