Important local travel news for the next three days
Important travel news from 31 January to 2 February.
The A413 London Road will be closed between Wendover and Great Missenden tomorrow (Friday) until early Saturday morning. The actual closure will begin at 20:30 tonight and will also include some of the roads leading off the A413 on both sides.
Chiltern Railways will also be closed on both Saturday and Sunday all day between Wendover and Great Missenden – but you should be able to get a train into London from Amersham. See Chiltern Railways website for up-to-date details.
The reason for the closures is that EKFB are launching the Small Dean viaduct across the A413 today and until Sunday. You can read more about the procedure in the February edition of Wendover News or online at https://wendovernews.co.uk/news/small-dean-viaduct-the-launch/
Customers travelling with Chiltern Railways are being asked to check their journeys as HS2 viaduct works neat Wendover will lead to changes to the timetable. There will be no services between London and Aylesbury this weekend (Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 February).
As a result of the planned engineering works, the railway is closed between Great Missenden and Aylesbury all weekend. No Chiltern Railways train services will operate between Marylebone and Aylesbury Vale Parkway (via Amersham). Rail replacement buses will operate in both directions as follows, connecting with London Underground Metropolitan Line services to/from Baker Street at Amersham.
- Amersham – Great Missenden – Wendover – Stoke Mandeville – Aylesbury – Aylesbury Vale Parkway.
