Important road investigation work planned for A41 Woodlands Roundabout ​

Important road investigation works begin next Monday (3 August) for two weeks at the A41 Woodlands Roundabout near Aston Clinton.

The works, being carried out on behalf Buckinghamshire Council by Galliford Try, are part of plans to introduce new link roads, to help reduce congestion and improve journey time reliability in the Aylesbury area.

Special ground penetration radar surveys will be used to establish the location of underground utilities while other surveys will also check the condition of the drainage system and test the condition of the road foundations of both the roundabout itself and the three roads that feed into the junction.

Over the two weeks, the work will take place from Monday to Friday only (no weekend working) and be carried out using selected lane closures and temporary traffic lights between 7am and 7pm daily.

Buckinghamshire Council Cabinet Member for Transport Nick Naylor said the works were planned during the summer holiday period to ensure the minimum of disruption. “These are important works to help in the detailed design of the proposed Aylesbury ‘orbital’ series of links roads around the town.

“We will of course ensure access is maintained to all those properties near the roundabout, however, there may be minor delays for motorists at critical times during the work schedule, so can I apologise in advance for any inconvenience that these might cause.”
