Innovative Buckinghamshire Project shortlisted

Buckinghamshire County Council’s Active Bucks project has been shortlisted in the prestigious Royal Society of Public Health (RSPH) Awards, to be held in October.

The Active Bucks project was setup in 2015 to tackle inactivity across the county. It is innovative because it engages residents to help shape what types of physical activities are offered. This has led to a number of unconventional but popular activities, such as dog agility and Quidditch being offered.

Noel Brown, Cabinet Member for Community Engagement and Public Health, says, “It’s great to be recognised for all the hard work that people have put in but we couldn’t have done it without all the support from activity providers, businesses and volunteers across the county”
