It takes two to tandem – Milton Keynes homebuilder helps celebrate cycle to work day

Barratt Homes is encouraging residents at its developments across Milton Keynes to use their cycle lanes ahead of Cycle to Work Day on 4th August 2022.

Cycle to Work Day is hosted by Cyclescheme, which is celebrating its 10th Birthday this year, and encourages commuters to consider the benefits of arriving to work on two wheels.

Barratt Homes is encouraging residents to use cycling routes at its Fairfields and Brooklands developments that provide convenient connections to nearby amenities and gives homebuyers the chance to explore Milton Keynes.

According to Cycling UK, only 5% of people commuted to work on bike in 2020, despite cycling improving physical and mental wellbeing, saving costs on fuel, and being better for the environment.

Alison Raine, Sales Director at Barratt Homes Northampton, said: We’re proud to include cycle paths at our Fairfields and Brooklands developments, giving residents a safe and easy way to experience the developments and the surrounding areas to the fullest.

“Homebuyers can take a leisurely cycle around the countryside and green spaces that surround the development, or they can use the routes to commute into towns or cities, reducing their carbon footprint and helping to live a more sustainable life.”
