Kayakers raise a whopping £8k for their charities!

Well they did it! We were blessed with fabulous weather the final weekend of August and kayakers Matt Ryan, Ben Hutchings, Claire Morton and Ruth Morley successfully paddled their way 100km around the Isle of Wight in memory of Paul Shyvers.

They faced 6ft waves on the first day (with a hint of sea sickness thrown in) but the remaining days were glorious sunshine. Between them, they have raised just over £8k for St Francis Hospice, Berkhamsted and Cancer Research which is a massive achievement.

If you would like a peek at how the trip went then do visit http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MJYXnEJ7zAs&feature=youtu.be&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DMJYXnEJ7zAs%26feature%3Dyoutu.be.

They couldn’t have done it without the Averys following them in a yacht (turned catering ship!) and on behalf of them all massive thanks go to William, Bridget, Ruth and Nick for keeping the kayakers safe. They were also joined by many friends and family on the island which made the weekend one to remember for many years to come.

However, the biggest thanks goes to you – those who generously donated to their charities really helped to spur them on. From the bottom of our hearts – thank you.
