Last chance for businesses to get current Bucks Additional Restrictions Grant

Businesses in Buckinghamshire have until this Sunday 31 January to apply for financial help in the current round of Buckinghamshire Additional Restrictions Grants  (Bucks ARG) payments.  Any and all business sectors can apply for this funding.

These extra grants are designed specifically to provide a financial safety net to help local businesses who fall outside the funding criteria set out by national government under the Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) – which is a separate grant scheme.  Many self-employed people or businesses who can’t get LRSG are now benefitting from the local Buckinghamshire business grant scheme which is being awarded in distinct rounds.

The current Bucks ARG funding round closes at midnight on Sunday 31 January.  A new round will go live on Monday 1 February.

In the new round of funding, eligible businesses will receive a payment of £1,000, £1,500, or £3,000 depending on their size. Businesses will need to show that their January 2021 income has dropped by 30% or more compared to their January 2020 income. Businesses will need to submit a new application for this latest round of the Bucks Additional Restrictions Grant, even if they received funding in a previous round.

So far around 2,500 different businesses have received funding from the Bucks ARG local scheme which so far has distributed £8.3 million.

Teams at the council are working to process applications as fast as possible to get Bucks ARG payments out to businesses and to get this support funding flowing into the local economy.

Under the separate Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) scheme set up by central government, all businesses that were registered for LRSG support on or after 19 December do not need to reapply. The government will review the next period of support and restrictions for LRSG by 15 February. We will continue to take new applications for the LRSG scheme on an ongoing basis.
