Lavendon school pupil gives warm welcome to new residents in Buckinghamshire

Winner of the Welcome Home Card compeition, Eva Sear, with the winning design

Following a greetings card design competition with David Wilson Homes, an imaginative pupil from Lavendon School in Lavendon is spreading joy to residents at the homebuilder’s new development.

As part of a ‘Welcome Home’ campaign, the housebuilder reached out to the school nearby to its development Lavendon Fields on Olney Road, for the help of the pupils in designing greeting cards to be handed out to new homebuyers.

Local pupil Eva Sear was the winner of the competition and will see her cards printed and delivered to new residents, in addition to claiming a £30 gift card.

Mrs Lisa Watson, Headteacher at Lavendon School, said: “We were delighted that our children were asked to help design a card for residents new to Lavendon. There is a real community spirit in the village, and I have no doubt that they will be very happy here.”

The scheme aims to provide a warm welcome to those making a fresh start with David Wilson Homes, whilst also highlighting key information about the local area.

The theme of the county-wide competition for schools is all things home related and the children are encouraged to be as creative as possible, adding in pictures and details about the suburb they live in.

Jason Hearn, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said: “It’s important to us to make new residents feel welcome as they join our new communities, and we’re thankful to the pupils of Lavendon School for helping us to do just that.

“Purchasers moving into their new homes is a great opportunity for greetings cards to be distributed and receiving a personal message from a local school pupil will really put a smile on their faces.

“We received a variety of inventive entries as part of the Welcome Home campaign and it was a difficult task choosing the winners, however we hope this project has inspired the imaginations of the children involved.”

Situated in a sought-after village location, Lavendon Fields is gaining a huge amount of attention for its incredible location and its ability to meet all criteria for 2020’s latest home buying trends.

Nestled between neighbouring villages Olney and Cold Brayford the development has a truly rural feel. However, it is perfectly located for access to Northampton, Milton Keynes and Bedford which are all less than 15 miles away.
