Leighton Buzzard Railway reopens for 2023
After a record-breaking Christmas in which a total of 6316 passengers were carried, the Leighton Buzzard Railway reopened for 2023 on Sunday 12th March with the 1030 departure from Page’s Park being ceremonially flagged away by Leighton Linslade’s Deputy Mayor Cllr Sheona Hemmings. The first train of the year also gave customers to chance to see the new station sign at Munday’s Hill.
The season continues on Sunday 19th March with a Mother’s Day event – why not treat mum to more than just a train ride on Mothering Sunday? We have a choice of five departures, as well as additional activities and treats, making this a fun trip for the whole family.
After you have collected your ticket from our friendly station staff, you can have a family photo, gathered on our platform. Taken by one of our resident photographers, this will be printed for you to collect after your train ride, ready to be framed at home!
The experience lasts 90 minutes, including a 65-minute steam train ride and 25-minute stop at Stonehenge Works where there is lots to see and do, including a Mothers’ Day card decorating activity for the kids, On returning to Page’s Park, mums will be presented a potted plant gift and The Train Shed Café is offering mums a free hot or cold drink.
This will be followed by an Easter Egg Hunt over the Easter weekend, the return of our Gin & Whisky Festival on Sunday 7 May, the visit of Bluey on Sunday 28 May, and many more special events throughout the year.
