Leighton Buzzard Railway sells out reopening weekend
The Leighton Buzzard Railway is delighted to announce that its first weekend was a sellout success, with more than 400 passengers carried over the two days across twelve departures.
While this is less than the record numbers seen over a single weekend, due to the current reduced capacity in operation, this is the maximum number that could be carried, with every compartment sold out in advance.
Visitors were able to enjoy most of the features that have helped the railway to win many consecutive TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence awards in recent years, with the exception of the internal areas at Stonehenge Works. The Engine Shed Show at Page’s Park is open on Saturdays and Wednesdays only for the remainder of the year.
Trains are now running every Sunday up until 1st November as well as Saturdays 10th and 31st October, along with Tuesday and Wednesday 27th and 28th October for half term. The railway recommends that customers wishing to visit book online in advance at www.buzzrail.uk to avoid disappointment.
The coming weekend is planned to once again see resident Doll hauling the 1030, 1230 and 1430 departures, with the return of 778 to service after an enforced absence of almost a year on the 1130, 1330 and 1530 trains.
