Like winning the lottery…
The Hospice Lottery Partnership, based in Tring, has been named as a finalist in the ‘Not for Profit Business of the Year’ category of the prestigious SME Hertfordshire Business Awards.
This sought-after endorsement recognises the hard work, enterprise and endeavour of many of the county’s most entrepreneurial businesses.
A vital support for local charities
The Hospice Lottery Partnership, now in its 20th year, raises much-needed funds via a weekly lottery draw and seasonal Superdraws, supporting a group of five hospices who provide vital palliative care for over 11,000 patients and their families in parts of Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Middlesex and Oxfordshire.
The Hospice Lottery attracts over 34,000 players, who last year alone supported an incredible £1.176 million of vital hospice care provided by the hospice partners, without which many of their services would founder.
Going from strength to strength
The Hospice Lottery Partnership is thrilled to be named a Business Awards finalist following a particularly successful year which has seen a 3.5% growth in membership income, and a 12.7% growth in donations. They aim to further increase these numbers in the coming year as well as bring additional hospices under their fundraising remit.
The Hospice Lottery’s Chief Executive, David Griffiths, said:
“As we reach our twentieth year we’re really strongly focused on attracting many more new players and making an even greater difference to people’s lives at a time when they need help most. It’s fantastic to get recognition from such a prestigious award, and business community at large.”
The finals of the SME Hertfordshire Business Awards will be held on 26 July at Watford Colosseum.
