Local Charity calls for temporary volunteers this season of goodwill

Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity have a variety of volunteer roles to suit everyone this Christmas

Could you give the gift of 4, 6 or even 12 days this Christmas? If so, Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity needs you. As the charity gears up for its busiest time of year, they’re calling for temporary volunteers to help keep the shelves stocked and the tills ringing.

Just a few hours each week in the run up to Christmas would play a crucial part in Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity’s commitment to support local patients and their families across Buckinghamshire and its borders – delivering dedicated, specialist hospice care when they need them most, every day of the year.

You’ll be joining a friendly, supportive team of volunteers and with 10 shops in Buckinghamshire and surrounding towns, there are roles to suit everyone.

“Volunteering is a fantastic way to get out and meet new people this festive season, doing something truly meaningful. By gifting your time to a Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity shop, you are doing something very special for someone else.” says Lily Caswell, Head of Retail at the Charity.

Volunteering offers an opportunity to gain new skills, experience something different, whilst giving back to your local community.  Becoming a volunteer also allows you to develop valuable job skills, build your confidence and connect with other people.

Graham, volunteer at Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity said:

“Once you start volunteering, you are hooked. It’s an absolute pleasure to volunteer and the people are all fantastic. I would highly recommend anyone thinking of volunteering to just do it and talk to other volunteers to find out how rewarding it is.”
