Local Face: Directors of Wendover Celebrates!

Emma Carroll

Emma helped to set up Wendover Celebrates! back in 2011 as a representative of Wendover Parish Council. She has been a Director of the company from the start, believing that “Wendover has a thriving community culture. Wendover Celebrates! is a showcase of what Wendover can achieve when everyone works together.” There is still time, just, to book in your team of Lords, Knights or Ladies for it’s a knockout www.wendovercelebrates.org.uk/tickets.html. Emma juggles voluntary commitments with the Parish Council, Wendover Junior School and Wendover Celebrates! with the demands of two small children (and a husband).

Robert Duggan

Robert Duggan has lived in Wendover for over thirty years and remembers with fondness the carnivals of yesteryear. Raising funds for charitable causes is something Robert feels strongly about. He is a Governor of the South central Ambulance NHS Foundation Trust and current chairman of Wendover Parish Council so his support for Wendover Celebrates! and Emma and the team is without question. In 2012 one of his main responsibilities was the magnificent Parade, and he would like to better that this time. If you’d like to take part in the 2014 parade, please contact parade@wendovercelebrates.org.uk for full details.

David Honeyball

David Honeyball was recruited as a director of Wendover Celebrates! in late 2013, having cut his teeth with fork and tongs manning the barbecue at the first Wendover Celebrates event. This year he is responsible for two of his loves – food and drink! As Club Welfare Officer for Wendover Cricket Club he thanks the committee and members of the club for supporting Wendover Celebrates again. Wendover Celebrates is only possible thanks to all the volunteers who get involved on the day. If you are able to help us at this year’s event please email volunteers@wendovercelebrates.org.uk and we’ll be in touch.

Ami Lewsley

I feel very honoured to be involved in such a big event. Last time I was a Committee Member, which seemed full on, but now as a Director it is very stressful and many hours of hard work go into it, but I know when the day comes it will all be worth it. It’s amazing what we can create with the support of the community and local businesses and I can’t explain how grateful we are to those who support us. It’s great that there are more tickets for the evening event this year: www.wendovercelebrates.org.uk/tickets.html .
