Local Face: Theresa Cross
Teresa Cross was born in Aylesbury and grew up at the family farm at Dunsmore where her mother still lives. Many of you reading this article will know Teresa (née Passaro), from her days growing up in Wendover. Teresa qualified as a hairdresser at Aylesbury College, then worked for her sister Lucie at her Silver Scissors salon in Aylesbury. During which time she won the London Heat of the prestigious L’Oreal Colour Trophy along with many other local hairdressing events and competitions.
Teresa married Gary Cross in 1987 and they have 3 sons, Gino, Bruno and Lorenzo, two of whom have attended Wendover schools and the family now live in Aston Clinton.
Just as it looked like Teresa was about to start her own salon in Milton Keynes she and Gary moved out to the Middle East where she started two successful hairdressing ventures Diva and Raz Hair Studios. On returning to the UK after ten years (with two children) Teresa worked at Scruples in Wendover and then set up her own mobile hairdressing companies – Flying Scissors and The Brides Groom, specialising in bridal hairdressing where Teresa would attend the bride’s hotel or home to prepare their hair for their special day, with individual designs featuring hand sewn crystal work and hand-made tiaras.
Teresa is very excited to announce the opening of her own salon in Aston Clinton called “La Vita” and hopes to bring a different touch of affordable creativity and glamour to the village in gentlemen’s and ladies hairdressing. La Vita offers an exciting range of hairdressing styles and treatments for long and short – in fact every hair type, with competitive pricing and flexible opening hours, in addition to very convenient and extensive FREE parking outside the salon.
La Vita can be found at the site of what was the Post Office on the London Road (next to Stages the ballet shop).
