Local Hospice Charity launches Christmas Appeal
Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity is launching a Christmas Appeal to ensure local families get the help and support they need over the festive period.
The Charity will fund over £80,000 of services at Florence Nightingale Hospice this December, to enable the hospice team to care for hundreds of patients and their families across Buckinghamshire this Christmas.
Many people are looking forward to spending time with their loved ones this Christmas, especially after the disruption of the last eighteen months, and for the families of the Hospice’s patients, this is especially important.
“My whole team, Community Clinical Nurse Specialists, Florrie’s Children’s Team, Day Hospice, FNH@Home and the In-Patient Unit are right now supporting families across Buckinghamshire who know that this might be the last Christmas they spend with a loved one,” says Liz Mongahan, Matron at the Hospice.
“They will be there to ease the stresses and support families through this difficult period – allowing them to concentrate on each other and spend that quality time they have left with each other – whether that’s working to get a patient home to be with their family on Christmas Day or making the Hospice as festive as we can for our Day Hospice patients, and those in the In-Patient Unit.”
A donation of just £20 could help a bedbound patient get washed, dressed and feel more like themselves on Christmas Day and £40 would fund a nurse’s visit to a patient’s home to ease their pain at Christmas.
You can donate to the Charity’s Christmas Appeal at www.fnhospice.org.uk/christmasappeal2021 or call 01296 429975.
Your support will ensure that the Hospice team are able make a difference to their patients’ final days and how their loved ones will remember this time.
