Local Hospice looks to funding from Lottery Summer Superdraw
Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity started the year in a celebratory mood following the Hospice’s 30th anniversary celebrations in 2019. They now face an uncertain year with the effects of the Covid-19 lockdown still being felt across their fundraising channels with events cancelled and many Shops still closed.
Through all the challenges that have been faced, the Charity has been able to rely on income from the Hospice Lottery Partnership – a weekly lottery draw which raises money for hospices around the area. Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity have received over £2 million in funding from The Hospice Lottery Partnership since it started in 1997.
Jo Turner, FNHC’s CEO, said, “The Hospice Lottery is a vital part of our fundraising mix. And has become even more crucial this year as a steady and secure source of funding. Every ticket that is bought for The Hospice Lottery will help our nurses to continue caring for patients and their families at an incredibly tough time.”
The Hospice Lottery Partnership has launched its annual Summer Superdraw with a top prize of £2,000, second prize of £250, and a third prize of £100.
Tickets cost just £1 each and are available to buy online at hospicelottery.org.uk/superdraw or by calling The Hospice Lottery Partnership office on 01442 891459. Tickets are on sale until 21 August 2020 and the main draw takes place on 26 August 2020.
