Local Walking
We in Wendover have quite rightly, through Wendover News, thanked publicly those to whom we are grateful. I would like to add another to that list: As I walk the adjoining fields taking my exercise during lockdown, I am not alone, as many of us are doing the same thing. The footpaths soon get muddy because there are too many of us, so we have made our own tracks, if only to keep the grass green. It is apparent that the volume of grass for the sheep to graze is reduced by our activity. The farmers have let this happen without complaint, although it affects their livelihood. This letter is to show that it is much appreciated, because any green space is much needed at this present time, we do not seem to be leaving much in the way of litter, which is a good sign. Perhaps we can also return the compliment by shopping local.
