Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire to visit Wendover Arm

On Tuesday 6 September, the Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire, Lady Verulam, will be visiting the restoration of the Wendover Arm, being carried out by the Wendover Arm Trust.

She will be taken on a member’s narrow boat from Bulbourne Junction along the 1.5 mile navigable section to the new winding hole at Little Tring and will be accompanied by the Deputy Lieutenant, Derek Townsend, James Clifton from the Canal & River Trust, Restoration Director Roger Leishman and Christopher Sargeant, Chairman of WAT. The narrowboat is kindly being provided by Marion and Michael Birch.

Upon arrival at Little Tring the party will be met by Ray Orth, Assistant Restoration Director and other members of the Trust. They will walk along the canal to view Whitehouses Pumping Station and also inspect the restoration works in progress. Return to Bulbourne junction by narrow boat anticipated around 1.30 p.m. Refreshments will be offered.
