The MAD Festival at Waddesdon is Taking a Break

The MAD about Waddesdon Festival, presented over a weekend in the grounds of Waddesdon Manor each June, will be taking a break in 2014.

Since its inception in 2006, the Festival has created memorable performance opportunities every year for thousands of young people, with over 10,000 visitors enjoying and participating in a wide range of music, art, dance and drama. We have also welcomed renowned musicians including Jools Holland, Katherine Jenkins and Russell Watson, performing concerts to raise funds to support the running of the Festival.

The MAD about Waddesdon Festival will return in the summer of 2015, and we will keep you informed as plans develop.

Simon Wales, Head of Visitor Experience, said:

We have run the MAD About Waddesdon Festival every year since 2006, and it is not uncommon for established festivals (such as Glastonbury) to take a break on an occasional basis, to develop new ideas and rejuvenate formats. The time feels right for us to do this in order to plan for the festival’s return in 2015.

In the meantime we are presenting many new exciting events at Waddesdon during the summer months, including Colourscape (June 27-29), Oakleigh Country Fair (August 9 & 10), our “Roman Weekend” (August 16 & 17) and the Summer Nights Film Screenings on September 5 & 6. Please check our website for further details, as the programme is launched over the next few weeks.
