Wendover Community Awards Presentation
This year the Wendover Community Awards were done a bit differently. The community were invited to nominate their heroes and an independent selection panel made up of individuals from local businesses, schools, sports clubs, emergency services and the community assembled to ensure an unbiased result.
Unfortunately, the award ceremony, which was originally planned to take place in April at the Annual parish Meeting was cancelled due to coronavirus. However, on Wednesday the 28th October the Parish Council were able to present the awards outside Budgens on Manor Waste.
Tom Walsh, Chairman of Wendover Parish Council, closed the presentation by saying how strong the community of Wendover is. “It is remarkable how the businesses and people of Wendover have looked after each other in these difficult times. The whole community structure is woven with clubs and organisations that all, not just the award winners, add great value to the lives of our residents”

Christmas Trees on the High Street
Sadly, the annual Christmas Celebration on Manor Waste was cancelled this year due to coronavirus. To keep some Christmas cheer alive, the Parish Council have decided to fund the mini Christmas trees located every year along the High Street in Wendover. The High Street businesses usually pay for the mini Christmas trees themselves, however, due to the difficult times experienced by businesses this year the Parish Council did not feel it was right to ask this of the businesses. Every business that purchased a mini Christmas tree in 2019 will receive a free one this year. Furthermore, on behalf of the community, a big thank you to No.2 Pound Street for sponsoring the 18ft Christmas tree on Manor Waste this year! The Christmas tree will be dressed in decorations made by children from local schools and nurseries. Wendover Parish Council wish the community a Merry Christmas! We know Christmas may look and feel very different for everyone this year and we look forward to merrier times for all!
