Milton Keynes developer keeps the environment in mind with sustainable properties

Leading housebuilder David Wilson Homes is highlighting the benefits of buying a new build home by outlining sustainable features in their properties at its Milton Keynes development, Eagles’ Rest.

At a time when energy bills are rising dramatically, having a home with sustainable features is important to keep living costs low as well as having a positive impact on the environment.

According to the Home Builders Federation’s ‘Watt a Save’ report published in October 2022, consumers can save up to £2,600 per year on bills in a new build home in comparison to an existing property.

The reason behind new build homes being cheaper and greener is due to features such as double glazed windows and doors, efficient boilers, quality insulation and water saving systems.

As well as this, a selection of homes at Eagles’ Rest will also feature PV panels which will allow for less energy to be used from the national grid and at some points, even transferred back to the grid by the homeowners.

Eagles’ Rest also benefits from the MK connect scheme, which allows residents to find the easiest route of public transport near them. If there are no accessible bus routes, the scheme will send a carpool vehicle that will take you and others to your destination.

Jason Hearn, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes South Midlands said: “We are delighted to be delivering properties with sustainability in mind to homebuyers at Eagles’ Rest, as we feel it is important to do our bit for the environment.

“As the UK’s largest housebuilder, it is our responsibility to ensure we are helping the environment and our homes will hopefully encourage residents to also get involved and be environmentally friendly.”
