Mix96 Tour de Vale routes revealed for 2015
The three routes for the Mix96 Tour de Vale were announced Thursday 5 March by WheelPower, the bike ride organisers.
The event is open for up to 2,000 fundraising cyclists who will start and finish at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, made famous for being the birthplace of the Paralympic movement and home of the national charity of wheelchair sport.
The longest of the three routes has been increased to 100km, which involves a total elevation of 800m including a 150m climb from Halton to the top of Wendover Woods. The major change to the route sees an extension through Chesham town centre before heading towards Berkhampstead on the scenic Vale Road.
The 60km challenge which travels through the picturesque privately owned Eythrope Park sees a small change to the route from Mentmore to Cublington. The popular 25km family ride remains largely unchanged.
The routes were created by Peter Robinson, a volunteer from an Aylesbury cycling charity that has long supported the Tour de Vale.
The full routes are available on www.tourdevale.com or the GPX file can be requested by registered Tour de Vale cyclists by emailing jo.hall@wheelpower.org.uk
