More library feedback events planned
More than 500 people have so far fed back on Buckinghamshire County Council’s proposals to give Aylesbury a state-of-the-art library at a cost of £366,000.
Residents visited three exhibitions during August to meet the design team, and to look at the renovation plans, which aim tointegrate the lending library and study centre.
Plans include improved access to study centre resources, new children’s and teenage sections, new meeting rooms, longer opening hours, more advanced technology and better toilets.
Three more exhibition events are planned, to give residents an opportunity to give their feedback:
Thursday 14 September from 2.30pm to 5pm in the study centre.
Tuesday 19 September from 2pm to 6pm in the lending library.
Thursday 21 September from 2pm to 6pm in the study centre.
Noel Brown, Cabinet Member for Community Engagement and Public Health, said: “Our aim is to give Aylesbury a library fit for the 21st century, and in a prime position in the town centre. Our plans aren’t cast in stone, which is why we want people to feed into the design team’s ideas.”
